Lots has happenened since our last blog. Thank you for checking up on new updates!
BJs JOURNAL - Alex booked a print job for BJs and we are told that it will appear in BJs Journal. Get to BJs, become a member, and check out BJs Journal!
AD COUNCIL COMMERCIAL - Alex got to work again with this talented group! I have not seen this commercial yet, but was told that it will be available soon. This ad council commercial warns parents of the dangerous media on TV & what parents can do about monitoring what they watch.
JASMINE RHEY "LIFE GOES ON" MUSIC VIDEO - Alex was THRILLED to work again with director Lewis Farinella as he filmed a music video for a great song by Jasmine Rhey. Alex worked with myspace friend Alexia Maria on this project and we are awaiting the finished video. I will post on the site when it becomes available.
LIFETOUCH - Alex was booked for 2 LifeTouch shoots & had a blast at both!
HE SAW HORSES - Alex was asked to return to do the voiceover for the film "He Saw Horses".
OUR NYC AUDITION EXPERIENCE
A myspace friend of sent us a casting that seemed to fit Alex perfectly for a feature film that was being cast in LA/NY. We could not attend the audition, but submitted to the casting director, who responded that she'd like us to send a video submission using part of the script. It was at this time that I found out the movie was starring Meryl Streep, Steve Martin & Alec Baldwin. The casting director again contacted us, asking us to send hardcopies of his audition so she could submit to the director, the amazingly talented Nancy Meyers. While visiting Boston for the Xmas holiday season, we got some exciting news that they would like to fly Alex out to NY to read lines with Alec Baldwin for the director's consideration. They were kind enough to treat us to VIP accomodations; airfare, hotel & car service. A driver picked us up from our home taking us to the airport, and to every leg of our journey. We stayed in an amazing hotel in Central Park & Alex had a great audition. Unfortunately, he did not get the part, but we did get terrific feedback, saying that it all came down to "look" in the end, but he was one of the top few children considered for the part. It was an experience we will remember forever & are thankful for the opportunity!
UPDATES
The premiere of the film "He Saw Horses" was shown at the Aloma Cinema Grill in Winter Park for GradFest. It was the first time seeing Alex on the "big screen" along with his brother Tony & we had a fantastic time.
The premiere of "Soldier's Last Letter" will be shown Monday in Cocoa Beach
Florida Pool's Deluxe Swim Easy Arm Floaties are now available at Wal-Mart featuring Alex on the packaging.
Jasmine Rhey's Music Video should be available this month.
Pushing Sassy webisodes are now being shown on YouTube. Check out www.wayburnsassy.com for more information. The webisode that Alex is in should be airing this month.
A friend mentioned that she had seen Alex in a recent video for BJ Teddy Bear Club & Bible Stories. We are VERY excited about seeing this episode, and highly recommend the show to all parents of young children. It airs on the Inspiration Network on DirecTV & many DVDs are available for purchase.
NEAR MISSES
Had a few close calls... was called back for a Heartburn Commercial and was called on a New Balance job in Boston, but was unable to make the trip, and of course, the "big" near miss... the big feature film. But regardless of these near-misses, we are thrilled to be a part of the process.
Thank you again for reading about the recent updates! This past week, we had some very exciting auditions & another coming up this week that I hope to be able to write about next blog entry!
