Alex has returned from a very eventful & successful trip to Los Angeles. While there, he worked extensively with an LA Acting Coach. Under his new management, he was able to get the ball rolling rather quickly. He got new headshots taken by celebrity editorial photographers J Squared Photography, got set up with Actors Access & LA Casting and started auditioning immediately after arriving in LA..
Shortly after arriving, Alex quickly booked his first audition, as the lead role in the short film "Daniel", a very touching film directed by Sandra Fregozo. Daniel, played by Alex, carries a butterfly jar to the river, recalling special moments that he had with his now deceased mother. The video has just been released & added to the videos tab on his site.

After getting set up, trained & new photos taken, Alex began meeting with prospective agents. He ultimately signed with the commercial & theatrical departments at Abrams Artists. He was sent out on a few auditions before leaving LA, and was lucky to be called back for all. He booked 2 Little Caesars commercials (set photos available in the site gallery) and was placed on hold for a national Disney commercial. He was sent on one theatrical audition, to play a lead role as Russell Crowe's son in an upcoming film. After meeting with casting, he was sent to meet with Academy Award winning director Paul Haggis for consideration.
While at Oakwood & being part of the Child Actor Program led by Rosie Forti, Alex had the opportunity to be seen by top casting directors, including the "dad" from Drake & Josh, Jonathan Goldstein, who is now a director for iCarly. He trained daily with the best voiceover artists, coaches & choreographers LA has to offer. He also continued his hip-hop training at Oakwood & with Camp Rock star Alyson Stoner. He was the youngest child actor to be chosen to participate in the Oakwood Talent Showcase and was awarded the opportunity to train at the Rage Complex in Los Angeles. The video of the performance can be seen on the video page.
The Alex Madera Online Team has included several photos of our LA trip in our Gallery. You will notice that Jay Leno was filming for his new show & Alex had the opportunity to meet Mr. Leno. He made friends with some extremely talented stars in LA, visited all of the Hollywood sites & had an amazing time. Among Alex's favorites were the Santa Monica Pier, the Ashley Tisdale concert, breakfast at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel, the premiere & interactive promotional attraction for G-Force 3D at the El Capitan theater, running the bases at Dodger Stadium, Universal Studios Hollywood, Six Flags, and many many more fun experiences. You may see photos of all in the gallery.
Premiere of Daniel
Daniel premiered at the "Academy" in Beverly Hills.
One of the most amazing nights in Los Angeles.
New Happenings Since Our Return To Florida
Alex direct booked a Scholastic Books print shoot. Photos are available in the gallery.
Alex also was asked to play a small role in Barefoot Empire Films' newest short film entitled "Refusing Treatment". Alex was extremely excited to be reunited with Enrico Marcellino, who played a role in Alex's first film "Summer In December". This hilarious film is shot in the style of "The Office". It is about a man who checks himself into the hospital regularly but refuses to be treated. It is a metaphor for people that attend church every Sunday, but do not take it in. Alex plays a sick boy who is forced out of his hospital room. Alex is honored to be a part of any production Enrico is a part of.
Alex has been put on tape for a lead role in a major feature film & for an ABC/Disney Pilot... tapes have been constructed using a fantastic new company who will film & edit your video submission professionally
We also enjoyed watching "This Man's Life" entered in the Daytona Beach Film Festival.
Alex is now set up on IMDb and can be seen by clicking here
